Week-3 Black and White

While in White Rock, BC last week, me and the fam were able to take in the sights of the local beach. This is the pier heading south (for the US) during low tide.

Week 2 - Green

Now it's my turn to cheat. This was not taken last week but it's difficult to beat the greens of the palouse in the spring. This will definitely be a yearly trip.

Week 2- GREEN

Plain and simple. Take a pic of something green!

This idea came to me the morning after my kids school carnival, when the aftermath of cheep toys and even cheeper candy littered our kitchen counter. One such candy caught my eye... a half consumed, slobber covered Blow Pop!

To all of our faithful followers,
Well i guess I'm cheating a little bit....This wasn't taken last week, but already falling behind on the first assignment, (low light) i decided to put in this pic of the Monroe St. Bridge that i took a month ago. Its my first HDR pic taken at sunset. From here on out i will only post pics that i have taken the previous week! Scouts honor.

Week 1- Low Lighting

Welcome to the blog about learning and appreciating the art of taking pictures. This site was created to keep two amateur photographers accountable in improving their capabilities with a camera, as well as simply sharing art. The goal is to make one post every week and complete "assignments" that expand our knowledge of photography.

Week 1 - Low Lighting

I took this picture this past week at Priest Lake from the North end of the lake (Grandview Resort). The sun had set and the wind had died down leaving a stillness to this dock. I love landscape shots in low lighting because of the soft colors that are so evident before all light is lost.
